Being Tourists in Our Own Backyard
Literally, our own backyard. We are here because of Fattoria della Aiola. Our property was the home for the sharecroppers of the Villa and later on as the home for the workers of the winery. But enough about us. Fattoria della Aiola is a winery that produces Chianti Classico, Super Tuscans, IGT, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Grappa, Vinegar, Spumante, Rosato, Brut Rosé and Brandy.
They have different wines tastings. All start out in their Enoteca Shop.

Strolling Wine Tasting: Monday through Friday at 11 am. It is about 1 hour long. After the welcome toast on the terrace overlooking the vineyards and the beauty of the Chianti Classico hills, a guide will take you on a stroll through the vineyards, to the cellar and to the Villa. During this you will sample different wines. For groups of 8 or more, they are happy to make special arrangements on the time to work with your group.
Guided Tours & Tastings: Reservation only. About 1.5 hours. Minimum 10 people. There are various tasting proposals with snacks available. On this tour you will be able to have an in-depth visit to the cellars, learning the entire process from harvest to bottle. Following the tour, a tasting in their enoteca, on the terrace or in the Villa.

The current villa stands on the ruins of the castle of the same name. Built as a fortress in the civil wars between the Florentine Republic and the Sienese Republic that ended in the sixteenth century, the Aiola castle underwent a radical transformation. The original appearance characterized by walls, drawbridge, secret passages underground, in the Renaissance has gradually transformed into an elegant manor house, while maintaining traces of the original appearance.

1913-1916
Senator Giovanni Malagodi
From the 7th of September 1937 the property is purchased by Senator Giovanni Malagodi. In the Sixties the Senator created the label we know today, thus passing on a centuries-old tradition.
2012
New ownership
In 2012, the property passed to some Russian entrepreneurs who immediately began an important program of replanting new vineyards and restructuring the winery.
